Basic research on the culture of everyday life and popular literature and media is at the centre of the subject of Popular Culture Studies as a practical, empirically working cultural science. Things, practices, norms, discourses, narratives, knowledge, interpretations and meanings are analysed in their current social and historical dimensions.
