Agi Jiang is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies at the University of Zurich. She works on post-socialist transformation in Northeast China, examining how households adapt to changing economic and social conditions through intergenerational cooperation and informal and digital economic practices.

She is particularly interested in how broader processes of economic and regional change are negotiated through everyday social relations and forms of adaptation. Before starting her PhD, she completed an MSc in Denmark and worked in public-private partnerships and cross-border trade between China and the Middle East. Her earlier research focused on governance, institutional transformation, and social organisation through qualitative research.
