Trang Bùi (she/they) is a doctoral researcher in Social Anthropology at the University of Zurich. Their research, supervised by Prof. Dr. Annuska Derks, examines the social life of off-grid renewable energy systems and agrivoltaics in rural Viet Nam as part of the broader project "OFFGRID: Energy Futures in Southeast Asia."

Prior to joining ISEK, Trang spent a decade as an environmental journalist, covering the social and ecological transformations in Viet Nam associated with the green growth paradigm, as well as post-growth alternatives.

Their master's research examined the discourse of the circular economy in Viet Nam, highlighting local divergences from global practices, including a discursive shift from biomimicry and circular design toward a waste-centric approach.

Trang holds a Master's degree in International Development from American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC.
