Democracy Studies

Democracy Studies at UZH aims to promote diverse and multifaceted, qualitative and quantitative approaches to the phenomenon of democracy, its manifestations and transformations. With Democracy Studies, the PhF Graduate School's Social Sciences subject board offers a complementary, multidisciplinary and solid training open to all PhD candidates from all social science disciplines who wish to address a particular aspect of democracy in their PhD project. Upon successful completion of the Democracy Studies curriculum, PhD candidates receive a certificate issued by the PhF Graduate School in addition to their doctoral degree.
