Short bio

Chekhros Kilichova is a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Prof. Peter Finke. She conducts research within the SNSF project “Dealing with Institutional Volatility: Food Production, Processing, and Trade in South-Eastern Qazaqstan,” focusing on action strategies and institutional challenges in rural Qazaqstan. Combining institutional economics with agrarian anthropology, her work examines how institutional settings shape the opportunities and constraints faced by farmers. Her research centres on the lived experiences and everyday decision-making of smallholder farmers to better understand their long-term strategies and their ability to navigate risks and opportunities.

Chekhros has professional experience as a project assistant on several EU‑funded research and training initiatives at Lund University, Sweden. She holds an MSc in Economic Development from Lund University (Sweden) and a BA in International Economic Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Uzbekistan).
