Short bio

Anne Kukuczka is a PhD researcher and teaching assistant at the chair of Prof. Johannes Quack, Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies. Prior to joining ISEK, she completed a BA in South Asian Studies (HU Berlin) and a MA in Social- and Cultural Anthropology (FU Berlin) with study and research stays in the UK (SOAS), China (QNU), Tibet (TU Lhasa), and Nepal (TU and RYI). For her PhD project she examines the everyday lifeworlds of women in urban Tibet through an exploration of their aesthetic self-making practices as well as imaginations and practices of modernity, femininity and the ‘good life’.
