Matthew Parsfield, M.A.


Short bio

Matthew Parsfield M.A. is a doctoral candidate in social anthropology, working on the project “Spice Chains: Vietnamese Star Anise, Global Markets and the Making of an Indigenous Commodity” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Annuska Derks. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree from SOAS, University of London. From 2013 until 2016, Matthew was a social researcher at the Royal Society of Arts in London, where he authored a number of reports on community development, local governance and health and social care.
