Short bio

Jovana Dikovic received her BA in social anthropology in 2007 from Faculty of Philosophy University of Belgrade, and MA in political sciences from Faculty of Political Sciences University of Belgrade in 2009. She became a PhD student at Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, University of Zurich in 2012. She was granted Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for Foreign Scholars from 2013 to 2016 for conducting her PhD research project. As of February 2017, she became a grantee of Marie Heim-Vögtlin Program for writing up and completing her doctoral project “Post-socialist rural development and peasantry in Serbia”.

Apart from political anthropology her main interests are economic and legal anthropology, with special regards to property issues, access to resources and post socialist transformation of rural livelihoods.

The area of her fieldwork research is southeastern Banat in Vojvodina province (Serbia).
